Location Destination Exclamation: I'm in DC!

So after a late night and an early morning, a lazy chow-down of vending machine food for lunch, and a marathon of Tetris Friends on Facebook, it was 12:15, and my new friend Corrie arrived to take me to DC.
We left half an hour later. Reason? Baggage. It was quite puzzling, I was in disbelief that we would be able to take all my stuff, there was no room when she arrived. But we pushed, shoved, squashed, team-jumped on the trunk of her car to close it (unsuccessful), and crammed a "three" piece lamp in between the front seats. Then we tried to put her mirror back in the car, which was slid into the top of the ceiling until the nails were inches away from everything that was crammed in the back. Corrie held the mirror up with her head as we drove back to her house to leave it on the porch. And then we were on our way!
We got on 81, and headed north. Soon we were sailing down 66... until the signs started flashing "accident ahead, all lanes blocked" and then we sat in traffic, trying to switch lanes with no rear view, and worrying about our room situation. But we called the house, and found out that we each had our own room, the traffic cleared, and then everything was smooth as we arrived in the Motherland.
We happily arrived with much vigor, and unloaded our things after deciding that I was to have the room on the 1st floor and Corrie the second--we had another housemate's mom draw names, because we couldn't decide. Sanjay helped unload as well, and exclaimed about the fact that there were four guitars in the house! Along with a piano.
We had a meeting about the next day, got readings (which still have to be done), and then had pizza. I ate vegetarian. There was a broccoli pizza. Questions flew at dinner, "where's good places to run?" "Where's the closest group homes?" I asked about the closest soccer league.
So tomorrow holds great promises, with a visit to the Portrait Gallery, the National Zoo, the Eastern Market, and a morning run with Corrie and Jessica.
So tonight I slumber, and as my friends start classes tomorrow, I'm going to see the city.
And take lots of pictures.
